Looking at the internet
Hi guys!

I got a 100% ebay feedback rating from about 60 items that are a mixture of sold/bought things ranging from 99p - £500. Recently, I bought an Dlink ADSL wireless router and paid instantly through paypal. To be fair, it arrived very quickly, but when it turned up, it was a DSL router rather than an ADSL router. I emailed him and a few days got a very short email back saying

"ADSL and DSL are the same thing"

I replied explaining that they were not and the differences between them and never heard anything back. Looking at a some other auctions he had, a few more people had been caught out in the same trap. After not hearing anything back off him, I sold the router on MM and bought a new one from somewhere else. I left the guy negative feedback explaining that he was not advertising a product did something when it did not.

Then yesterday, I noticed that he has left me negative feedback saying

"left -ve even though item was as described (dsl/adsl is the same thing!!!)"

Surely you can't leave negative feedback just because the buyer does even though I paid instantly? I know it's only a small thing, but I'm really annoyed to have lost my 100% when its not even my fault! Is there anyway of getting this removed?

Cheers

Yeah, but he advertised it as an ADSL router though. 5 other people he sold it to complained as well so it was clearly mis-advertised. Also saying ADSL/DSL are the same thing means he probably doesn't understand the difference.

I know what your saying, but when something is advertised as "ADSL Router" I can't believe you would assume it was a regular router rather than one with an ADSL modem built into it.

At the very least, if it was me selling, I'd at least have the curtosy to reply to emails and offer an exchange/refund.

Yeah, but the first one doesn't specifically say ADSL router, whereas the second one does. The one I bought said ADSL router not just wireless router. None of the standard routers on that page mention ADSL, the only ones that do are ones that are ADSL compatible without having to plug in a modem.

Have a look at the description page again - http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=316

The product description doesn't mention anything about ADSL. It just says "Wireless Router" Yet he listed the item as ADSL router.

If someone told you they had a wireless ADSL router for sale, which out of these 2 products would you think they meant?
