Evening all,

Quick question..

I was hoping to buy some nice leather/alcantera seats for my dturbo HDi ( Out of a low milleage GTi-6 ), the bidding ended last night and I didn't win them, I had been to view them the day before and got intouch with the seller asking for him to contact me if the buyer didn't want them for some reason.

Lastnight I got an email from ebay saying that the results were null and void due to reason not attached to the seller,

Now, here is the question, the final price was £245 for the seats ( in the motors section ), how much would the seller have made , when you take away all the fee's,

He's contacted me you see, to work out a deal, but before I speak to him I want to have a figure to batter around.

I.E Seats went for £245, ebay take away £30, seller is left with £215 in his pocket,

TIA. :)

If he hasn't done it properly, he could avoid all fees if you don't accept a second chance offer from the ebay site..google for an ebay calculator and that should help.

ahh right , thanks..

I'm going to give him a ring and try and knock the £45 off seeing as he doesn't have to pay any sellers fees :p

did he sell through PayPal? Theres extra fees there too.

Erm, Paypal, Cheque, Bank Draft were his payment options.

I'm still batting around a figure in my head, he said I can have them for what I bid up to, which was £245, there was a bidder below me who was £230,

the guy who won the auction was using someone elses account according to the seller..

I told him that the seller fee's were quite high, and he said no they weren't

Can someone please help me work it out :p

£230 has to be a reasonable figure.. I save a few quid, and he does aswell... for not using ebay

A word of advice......

Keep the deal within the website. If you pay up and its not within their terms and you don't get the goods, your shafted :)

That's why sellers pay fees, for the security of yourself and them.

I think he'll be picking up the goods. Just forget about ebay then and agree a price from the seller. Unless you clicked 2nd chance then it might get more tricky, but should work out if you follow it through. But you'll both be worse off probably.

I'm doing it privately, and collecting the goods thanks guys :)

I went over at the weekend for a look :p
