Morning OCUK,

just a quick question, I've been selling a lot of old games/ DVD'S etc on ebay recently and have listed a number of old Japanese import games.
On these items specifically I'm having people message me and ask me for the bar code of the product , I have been thinking about this and done a quick Google but I cannot find a single legitimate Reason why that is, I might be missing something but does anyone know why these people would need this information?

Seems like a legitimate thing to ask for if you're trying to confirm if the game is real or not.

Indeed, or if there are different variations of the same game, it can confirm which version it is.

edit: beaten!

To be honest I can't see any reason why you wouldn't give it to them? (other than effort :p)

just give them the barcode?
There's commonly many different versions of a game/DVD might have specific extras or a specific audio track.

Just like people refusing number plates details on car sales :/

I they wont let me know 100% what I'm buying then I wont buy it lol

The phone apps out there can read both bar and QR codes. It makes pretty much no difference if your buyers were asking for either. The both types of codes will signpost you to the product.

I wouldn't list any type of media item without including the UPC. In fact eBay has a field to enter it and it automatically fills in the listing info. Refusing to give it on request is especially laughable.

That's what she said.
