A: Hi Yes I can accept payments through paypal but only if you already have enough cash already in your paypal account or your paypal account is funded from your bank account - I can't accept plastic payments through paypal because they demand that I upgrade and start paying fees (and no-one wants that!)

iirc that could be true, there are 2 levels to paypal when receiving money, one from direct funds and a business account for people wanting to receive from CC's. however you would need to check paypal to see how much more the person would actually be paying, iirc its probably not much at all.

quite normal, just that most people have already upgraded. i bought an item from mm not long ago and because i used paypal, and the recipient had to upgrade i paid the fees.

yes it is normal, to allow credit cards, you need to upgrade your paypal account

Yeap, fine.

If you have a PERSONAL paypal account, you can receive money with no fees, but it has to be sent from cleared funds.

With a PREMIER or PERSONAL paypal account, you are charged the 3.4% + 20p fees when receiving a payment - irrespective if its from a credit card, bank account or cleared funds already in an account.
