Like an idiot I was in a rush when I was sending an item though the post and just sent out 1st class, with no recorded or special delivery. The recipient is now claiming they have not received the item. I have a receipt from the post office for the item, but its not like it has a postcode or any other proof of delivery.

Am I now in a position, where I am totally stuffed and will have to refund? I am presuming ebay/paypal will automatically side with the person.

Thanks

when did you send it? if it has been like a day since he won, tell him that you are looking in to it and to be patient as the post office isnt the best for delivering on time. if a few days pass and nothing then you will have to think about refunding or taking it further with the post office

It was sent the day before yesterday 1st class, I cannot believe I was just preoccupied (lunch hour) with other things, that I did not think to send it recorded. It was worth £50.

I am a little dubious as it was a digital camera. The buyer (feedback of 26) was refunded on an identical model one the day before they bought my one. The one they was refunded on was advertised as having a broken screen. I am just wondering if the other seller was told the same thing? May just be being silly, but this is obviously not someone who fixes cameras or buys parts as they have never bought anything from ebay camera related. My one incidentally is fully working?
