Ebay question

If you list as collection onkly you tend to get a lower price, if your willing to post may as well start an auction and list it as such, probably get more money.

This. I was bought a pair of wharfedale diamond 8.4, pair of diamond 8 bookshelf rears, diamond 8 centre and a subwoofer. All in mint condition. Were probably worth around £250 to £300 used at the time but I got them for £50 as I was the only bidder and the guy had listed collection only and only lived 20 minutes from me.

Ive got it as buy now so no auction.

I only put it up as collection only as I thought it would be too expensive to send 5 speakers (total weight would be around 30kg) in the post....

Never engage with people who want you to do stuff like this as other posters have pointed out, it always causes hassle.

This was the main reason why I never post things overseas as it wasnt the increased risk, it was people contantly trying to argue with me over the postage costs. This was even after I state on the advert that I wont post overseas so now I dont even entertain them.

Message him back apologising (you don't have to mean it) but you can't post it, and the reason for listing it as collection only was precisely to avoid having to do so, you can give other reasons, you're bed ridden with gangrene are too busy finishing off your cure for world hunger just don't get drawn in to it. If he wants it posted he can do the leg work to get it but you are willing to box it up.

Actually had similar with a 25kg sub.

Usually I'd never post. But the guy arranged courier (one of those man with a van jobbies) and I almost didn't go through with it.

But got the sense from messages that I'd give it a go. Went fine. Was struggling to sell it locally.

Don't budge on your terms as you chose them for a reason. Agreeing to weird demands or posting impractical items always gets messy. I had one buyer sending me loads of abuse after I agreed to potentially hold an item for a month, when another bidder won the item for £11. He was laughing at me for losing £20 but he WAS the problem buyer I avoided by refusing to deliver.

This is the kind of mess you can end up in if you engage the difficult buyers, choose your boundaries and stick to them:

This, refund buyer - re-list and say collection only no postage.. unless you can get a strong enough box to post, however you have done bank transfer. If he reverses the transaction you are screwed. No parcel, no money.
