Ebay Sniping

Does anybody do this?

What do you use to do it? Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Aye

My keyboard and mouse.

Decide your absolute maximum and whack it in with a second to go. I can't see what more there is to it. :)

I know, but what difference does it make? Your only competition that late in the day will be other automated snipers. Then it comes down to who's willing to pay most, which you should always decide before bidding.

Seconded.

That really is wrong :)

It doesn't work like that, due to human nature. Also because some bidders won't consider that they might be sniped, or might not want that item sufficiently to keep close tabs on it. But, if they happen to receive the 'you've been outbid' email with plenty of time left, they might well consider upping their bid. If you bid your maximum at the last second, you guarantee that you pay the least you need to for the item, and sometimes you can get things for much less than they're worth :)

is that not what he put in his first post...

Not sure tbh - he seemed to be saying that nobody manually snipes. maybe I misunderstood, it is late :p

I always manually snipe, I wouldn't trust the 3rd party sites with my ebay details personally.

So what you're saying is, I should read properly before posting? :D

yes but say u decide ** max is £30... and the sniper buys the thing for £30.05, surely you would have paid that extra 5p to win :)

ive been puttin my bids in manually since i started on ebay a few years back, even beat my mate on a bid in the dying seconds eventhough he was using a bid snipe thing, as zach braff says in scrubs - " You gotta want it jhonny d!"

bidding against your mate doesnt really benfit anyone apart from the seller surely ?

Seems a bit mean

I did some wikkid bidding 2 nights ago.

2 browsers open, one on the item, the other at the confirm bid for that item.

Keep refreshing the first page, and at 5-3 seconds, confirm on the other, easy :D
