Ok, I bought this as the weekend, but it didn't arrive until today.

Now, I haven't contacted the seller yet, but do you think it is fixable or would it be better just to return it and be done with it?

yes, definately looks like that with the white colouring. I'd return it.

I'm not 100% sure about that, the flash was on in all those shots so it could be that... I'll get some more photos sans flash when I get home.

I've e-mailed the seller, I guess he can only offer a refund as he only has a few other items listed...

Does anyone know if DHL deliveries are automatically insured?

looks ok to me, should work if the tinsle leads are still connect to the coil, if not, its worth more hassle to fix than its worth, but IMO get it replaced or a refund, that WILL NOT happen under general use

No way that was damaged in shipping either. You'll be fine if you used PayPal - eBay don't care whether you paid for insurance or not when settling claims.

I wouldn't be so sure. Paypal only care if the item got to you. They don't give a fark whether it works or not. Bought an item off the MM here and it didn't work when it arrived. Seller refused to reply for 2 weeks so had to go through a paypal dispute. They refused and said that as it arrived that's all they care about. Under their terms they don't guarantee it will be in working order.
