Here is my recent experience with ebay.

1. Purchase wooden climbing training equipment on the 24th May for building finger strength.
2. Item was shipped via hermes, and apparently lost on 2nd June (the last day a status update was made).
3. 10th June, I file an ebay claim, saying item not received, had to wait until the 14th June to ask ebay to step in.
4. 14th June, I asked ebay to step in, ebay said I need to wait until the 18th.
5. 18th, now ebay says have to wait until 23rd June.

So I thought, I am sick of being messed around by ebay, I will open an 'item not received - claim' with paypal.

Paypal dispute resolution centre says:
You filed the case: 18th June
We've contacted the seller: The seller is expected to respond before 28 Jun
We'll review the information: This usually takes 5 days
Estimated case resolution: 03 Jul

I actually preferred ebay to amazon, at least the independent sellers in the UK probably paid their taxes.

I am just gobsmacked really by the lack of customer service, it's appalling, I have waited long enough.

A tracked item goes missing in hermes depot on the 2nd June, how difficult is it to make the correct decision.

I cancelled my eBay account after I never received £550 worth of furniture, eBay wouldn't help me because I made a paypal claim before going to eBay (Paypal sided with the seller because they submitted a forged signature). I hope the site goes bust.

Shocking.

A few years ago ebay had a telephone number to ring, but now there is nothing, you cannot even reply to their messages. It has to be via the dispute process, which they closed on me.

Why are companies allowed to operate like this?
