Well I've just had a poor first sell on ebay, the winning bidder of my item (a mobile phone) is clearly a scammer, they sent me an email asking me to send the item to Nigeria, and has made so many bids in the past hour you'd have to be stupid or blind to think otherwise.

I also recieved a message from the 2nd highest bidder, informing me the highest bidder is a scammer, and would be willing to arrange the sale outside of ebay. This however is ALSO a scammer, his bidding activity is as dodgy as the first scammer and is probably the same guy.

Trying to report this to ebay is a nightmare though, there's so many pages and options that it took me over an hour to correctly report the scammers, and in the process managed to accidentally report myself for trying to sell outside of ebay :p

Not a good first impression of selliong on ebay, is it always like this or am I unlucky?

That's great, I love it :D

It happens lots with mobile phones :(

I have had good luck i must say, never had isses with the bay! BUT i hear lots of people sayin sililar to what happened to you!

Actually... the last phone i did sell finished weirdly high, like about £25 more than expected which had alarm bells ringing for me! Turns out it was legit, but looking at the guys previous buys he had issues (had been buying... well basically used mens underwear, socks and gym shorts! lol)

I had someone bid £9999.09 for K800i last year. I was like "what the hell?!?!" and just deleted all bids. Had a to keep a close eye on it until the end of the auction.

just unlucky m8 i done over 110 transactions on ebay with no trouble, apart from one guy who won auction then his comp broke so he used his m8's comp to pay by paypal who then held payment but it got sorted in a few days..

In the auction listing you can block bidders from countries to which you do not ship, as well as a few other buyer criteria that I cannot remember at the moment.

In which case you can appeal to eBay, then they will grant you a FVF (I think its FVF) and you can relist your item for free.

Usually I have no trouble when selling phones etc if I just set the criteria.

Well over 200 transactions completed on EBay and I've only been stung once.
Early on I sent something to a non-registered address which amazingly "failed to turn up".
Annoying yes, but at the end of the day it was my stupidity for sending the item.
Other than that I've got a 100% success rate for both buying and selling.

I strongly believe that the majority of people who have problems with EBay/Paypal are making things difficult for themselves.

In this particular situation it is difficult, however this is the one reason I will not deal with mobile phones (either buying or selling) on EBay because the majority of buyers are potential scammers.

LOL I had this done to me too... the guy sent me a fake PayPal payment... wasn't impressed at all.
