Echofon for Facebook

Does anybody use this app on their iPhone? I'm a little confused if it will push updates to my iPhone or not.

The official site says:

When one Echofon for Facebook user sends a Facebook message to another, it gets sent to the other iPhone instantly where that user receives a push notification. Get your friends to use Echofon for Facebook and you can use Facebook messages just like SMS!

Which to me, means that only messages between two Echofon for Facebook users will be pushed to each other and that I would have to manually check the application for any other notifications?

Any users confirm this for me before I purchase it?

thats how i'd read it from the website....

not sure what this really offers over the standard facebook app?

Well I just want an app that works. The official Facebook app just seem to push updates to me whenever it likes me, not sure what I've done to make it hate me though.

i see. i find facebook can be a bit erratic, particularly since iphone 4

I've used boxcar for push notifications, believe it supports facebook, found it excellent for push notifications.
