Anyone know if this combo will go well together.

Looking at the pics of the galaxy with its bottom fan which is oversized and slightly off centre, I get the impression it will be too big for the hole in the bottom of the akasas psu cage. In fact because the fan on the galaxy is well off centre it looks like it might be completely blocked. Anyone ?

Where I am going with this, is I have ordered a Seasonic M12 700w and after reading early reports/rumours, I am not sure it will be enough for G80 SLI, but the Enermax sure will.

I got the same setup, unfortunetly I haven't got my mobo but I have tested my PSU in it and the shelf blocks half of the main fan but if you take out the hard drive cage underneath the shelf there is some airflow through the holes. Overall I'd say 35 to 40% is blocked. Just make sure you have suffiecent airflow elsewhere, try and get a small fan blowing air in the grill underneath the modular connections(only if overheats really)

Cheers mate...thanks for the info.
I will stick with the Seasonic 700w for now and consider the Galaxy 1000w if the Seasonic is not up to the task of handling 2xG80's next month.

Wasn't the minimum power supply for G80 SLi 800w or something  Seasonic probably won't cut it

All speculation. no one actually knows yet.

They did say 450w for 1xg80 but that was a fully loaded system. So 800w seems a bit over the top to me for sli.

Also the seasonic 700w is designed for quad sli and really has 1 massive 12v rail which breaks into 3 virtual rails. Time will tell if it's enough to handle the g80 in sli.

manoz - did you get your system set up with your eclipse and enermax galaxy ? Can you tell me how much of the fan is blocked and if there is any adverse effects. Does the psu heat up as a result ? Does it get noisy ? Thanks.

Yeah I got my system setup, working pretty damn solid, No overheating issues though that's probably cos I'm not using anywhere near the max load yet. The 8cm fan at the back does wurr a bit when I'm rendering but it still isn't louder then my laptop. That's the only gripe I have with the PSU. When working normally the PSU is quiet but not silent. Guess I expected too much. Overall I'm not worried. The ambers I have keep the whole thing cool enough aswell. I haven't heard the Seasonic in operation or used one so I can't really compare.

Thanks for the info. That's the 3rd person who has told me the Galaxy is not particularly quiet.

Hmm...I think if I change psu for sli it will be the silverstone 850w, or else another Seasonic M12 when my Lian Li A10 arrives.
