Gah ! i dont know what to do now.

recently i put in a migration order as eclipse appeared to of taken a 'germany circa 1940's' approach to p2p.. 20k on a good day y'know ?

but today, im getting the ol speeds back, in peak time-- 96kb +

what on earth is going on with this isp ??

This has been widely reported to happen after requesting a MAC code on the ADSLguide forums.

Pretty low tactic of Eclipse.

Apparently they'll give you a MAC, but some of the customer service folks won't give you one (saying you're on LLU) and they claim it takes them longer to generate them.

just requested my MAC key today.wondering if i should wait till after xmas before getting another isp though.don`t want to be without bb if they screwup.anyone know how long it takes to change isp`s? :)
merry christmas :D

mmmm if i get my mac in the next few days it is the 10 th today means it is getting awefully close to xmas.....all those parties for the people doing the switching /paperwork etc......i think i will wait till the new year.don`t want to be without even though the download speed is being crippled :(
thanks for the reply :)
p.s. how long does the mac last?is it a month or untill i use it?

had the same thoughts about the christmast period etc.

however got my MAC code from tiscali and decided to go with Newnet and they have confirmed live date 7 days for order date which is pretty good.

I'm thinking of moving from eclipse in the new year too. I don't use P2P a massive amount, but when I do I'd like it to run at a reasonable rate.

Also more and more software companies are starting to use P2P for software distribution - Blizzard for the WoW updater as an example. I hate having to wait ages for a WoW update to d/l.
