there isnt no way outa this aswel as you cant use the mac code way, also i wasnt even told about this change of service as they did it sneaky

very anoyed right now

be warned STAY AWAY FROM ECLIPSE

I am canceling my service with them soon as it has gone right downhill IMO. Can't believe you cannot migrate that is terrible.

Please do not go with Eclipse their technical support and customer service is not up to what it was last year. If you email them all you get back is mass draft replies that rarely answer your queries or problems. If you want to speak to somebody be advised it can be a very long phone call.

Sad day they used to be very good.

Here are my speeds on a 4mb connection.

Downstream 1,479.3 Kbps ( = 1.4 Mbps )
Upstream 377.5 Kbps ( = 0.4Mbps )

We've got over 30 connections with Eclipse and the tech-support has slipped - weight of customers I guess. I can understand it's a fine line between providing a good service and having a big cost base.

The long copy 'n' paste replies hack me off a bit. One recent reply had something like 20 questions to answer and as an example, I'd find questions 14 and 16 asked the same thing but in different ways.

That sux i was just gonna migrate to them this week guess i wont bother.

There is no decent isps out there these days with unlimited d/l and no fair use policy.

Iam currently with pipex which is ok apart from the traffic shaping

Maybe that's because it costs £100s a month to provide, and no one's willing to pay that?

I've been with UK online LLU for well over a year now, first on the 8meg and now on the 24meg and the speeds are fantastic. I regularly pull 1.5 megabytes per second on bit-torrent and my uploads are clsoe to 85KB/s. :) And it's all unlimited and only 29.99 a month. Can't argue with that :D

i used to be on ukonline but they capped me becouse of excessive downloading lol, so im sure u can get better than that lol :)

really?! Wow...how much were you downloading, if you don't mind me asking? Looking at my download stats for July - i downloaded 150 gigabytes and uploaded 120 gigabytes. Close to 300gig in all...and my stats are fairly similar most months tbh...

Ok, I'll concede - I should have clarified: Put BT-based in my comment above. 'Unlimited' on LLU appears much more feasible.

I'm on Eclipse at Uni. Just noticed that Tiscali LLU are in town, so I'll bet we're shoved on it soon enough. Not going to be happy.

24 hour dowloading from a fast host lol, no uploading at all, cant say i blame them for capping me and they also let me get out of my 12 month contract so good on them

Recently migrated to Eclipse from Nildram and I'm pretty impressed; 10-11ms pings and decent speeds. At £10/15 a month with a 20gig cap they are a good budget choice.

very poor for a ling connecting at 4mb and no errors

has anyone got any advice on how to leave this crap isp
as people on ADSlguide havnt a clue what to do

As they're not handing out MACs for those now on LLU, the only option is to cease/reprovide. Which means around a week's downtime and another activation fee to pay. Fantastic, isn't it?

I'm yet to find out if I'm on LLU up in Durham. I've sent them an email asking (I'm not there at the moment to check). If I am, I won't be happy. If I'm not, I'm getting the MAC key straight away. My housemate who's the only one using it at the moment says it's been pretty slow since it went active (it's synced at 8Mb!).

my bro just got a new router the speedtouch 585

and its now connecting to eclipse VIA ADSL2+

with a 2mb speed increase and massive power outputs like 50db?

the power output on adsl was more like 17 to 18 db

btw im on the LLU side of things and its still slow speeds cus of the congestion probs

if there wasnt congestion this would fly!
