Eclipse...Metal Aloy Front Cover?

Sorry MR T :D , i don't really care what it dissolves in tbh, just saying it isn't the same stuff that we used at school in chemistry, it also glows bright white when lit with a flame.

Well back to the subject, any info about prices for getting a company to make a metal copy of the cheap plastic front?
 
Is anyone seriously interested in getting a black Aluminium front for an Eclipse? The front would be almost identical, but made from alloy with turned metal buttons.

But we're looking at £100-ish each! And that's if I cover the full cost of the set-up myself.

Was thinking the same... could be made out of platinum but it would still be the same front. (i.e. ugly)
 
I think if I was going to have an alloy front panel for the Eclipse I'd have to have better front grills on it, horizontal, like the Antec Titan's:

I've had some quick discussions with Hoojum and it breaks down like this;

Supply 1 Case - £90
Setup/modelling - £450-£1000
Manufacture of 50 pieces (dependent on colour, material, extras - £25-£100)

If they were £50 each in black with alloy blanking plates and turned metal buttons is anyone interested?

For cost reasons we would have to lose the front PCI slot (or just the door) and the USB ports would be open to the elements.

I'm pretty sure they'd do a good job. Their Shuttle cases are beautifully done.

Anway - the setup cost is the same for 1 or 1000, so I'm going to do it. Then if anyone else wants one, they can subsidise mine ;)
 
Would it be possible to get a picture of the finished product?, im not too keen on exposed usb sockets, im interested though. Will it be brushed alloy like the rest of the case?.
