Does anyone here use an eco7 tariff for their elecricity?

Shortly moving out and im looking at various sites, wondering if it will work out cheaper. At the moment the apartment were looking at is all electric including heating.

I work typical Mon-Fri 9 till half 5, the other half is a nurse, so shift work for her. Im more than likely going to be using more power though evenings, with the PC's and what not.

That may be the case, we have a viewing on Tuesday. Im hoping not to use the heating TOO much, the PC's tend to heat up rooms quite well!

Even if we did use the heating, I can only see us using it to get to bed and get up to.....(he says)

We moved into our current property 5 years ago and just told our current supplier from our previous house that we had changed address. We are with E-on and the house used to have night storage heaters but was changed to gas by the previous owners. So the house is still on economy 7.

Reason I am posting this is because I'm not concerned with our energy costs because I don't consider it expensive but just wondered wether its's worth changing supplier.

E-on website says for my area economy 7 is from 23.30 - 08.30 and my quaterly bill from 2nd sept - 26th nov is:

Day = 184 25.79p kwh
Night = 779 4.45p kwh

Bill is £98.39

What I find strange is the amount of night usage as we are in bed at 11 and up around 6-6.30. We mostly use power during day as my wife is at home most of the time. Anyway is £98 a quarter competively price for nearly 1000 kwh usage?

I'm on economy 7 and have the "dreaded" storage heater. Costs £55 a month direct debit and the missis likes an overly warm flat. Only issue is you have to keep an eye on the weather to see what to set the heaters to teh night before.

£55 in my eyes sounds perfectly reasonable there....I was actually budgeting for a little more.

Didnt realise Economy 10 existed but sounds like it will suit my situ even better. Will have to take a look into that.
