I put up a thread here a while ago about the speedo occasionally dropping to zero while in motion, turned out a few other people have had this too. Well I've been monitoring the situation & this isn't the only thing that happens, I also get a very slight loss of power & the stereo becomes slightly muted too. It's weird, the throttle still responds but is sluggish then after about 10secs everything goes back to normal, the stereo resumes its normal volume, the speedo needle jumps up to the correct speed & the engine becomes lively again.

It's almost as if some sort of reboot happens, no warning lights appear on the dash. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here or have any tips on how to investigate the cause of this?

Apart from this everything else functions perfectly, no fuses are blowing, all the buttons & switches do what they are supposed to do, it's just a bit unnerving when it happens.

because the stereo adjusts volume dependent on speed, and the ecu thniks you are stopped hence the dodgy running.

Seriously, this is a super common fault on Focus', could have found the answer in 2 seconds on google.
