****ed off at Punkbuster!! PLEASE HELP!!!

I keep getting kicked while playing COD:WAW Multiplayer and I cant find whats doing it!:mad:


Whats causing this and how do i stop it?

I've not had the problem myself, just a spot of googling for you.

it seems like its the steam community overlay, i've found instructions to turn it off:
turn off steam community overlay.

To turn it off, in your steam main window, go to

View > Settings > In-game (tab) > uncheck the community overlay checkbox

Do u use riva tuner by any chance i know it caused me some issues with punk buster, i had to uninstall it.

Nah, ive never installed it at all:)
 
Apparantly it's not just the Steam overlay, it's any overlay that runs with the game. Such as FRAPS, X-Fire, Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Mumble, WMP etc.

As far as i know i have none of that!:confused:

Ive never installed any of it my self anyway, so unless its come attached to another Program i doubt ive got it.
 
googled it? The most common cause is using overlays, turn them off, run pbsetup to make sure you have the latest version, fixes it everytime for me.
 
I've played WaW in the past and no problems with both the steam and xfire overlays simoultaniously, if they disallowed them now then wtf ?

Yep, All i get is the Overlays thing.

Windows Live Messenger wouldnt be classed as one would it? Thats always on from start up although never signed in?
