Eddie Murphy

I do.
It was funny many years ago but these days there are many other acts that wipe the floor with him.
Richard Pryor, now there is someone funner that Murphy and a good few years before.

Murphy made is because of his stupid laugh, Pryor made it because he was funny.

I had a freind come around a couple of weeks ago raving about some dude called Kat Williams...what a joke! Didn't understand a single word he said - apart from all the swearing!

I've yet to watch any of these "classics" though.

I've got Raw and Delirious on DVD's both brilliant, but much prefer Raw. His sketch about Stevie Wonder is brilliant though, cant remember if thats on Raw or Delirious, pretty sure its Raw.

Not to mention that most of the things that Pryor's went on about actually happened to him. Who can forget the running around the street naked and on fire part?

Murphy made it by copying pryor, there stand up is scarily similar. I would say its what influenced murphy into comedy.

I went to the US last year and was made to watch Carlos Mencia live in san Jose DVD and i cant say i even laughed once. The yanks found him well funny, different comedy between us and the US i guess....

But i do like RAW, i havent seen it in a few years but i do remember him being the funniest man i have ever watched.

"And all of a sudden, a dude named Dexter walks up. Dexter St. Jock..." :D

"I don't wanna ruin the surprise, but Sly wins this one again."

"Ain't no green peppers at McDonald's."

I love Raw :) Goes off to watch for the 1st time in 18 years

That or Coming to America :D

Or the donkey in shrek, of which I notice they have announced a 4th film

I just recently purchased a mini Eddie Murphy boxset containing, Coming to America, Trading Places and Raw! for £6. :D

I like Delirious a bit more than Raw. But the links with Richard Pryor are clear, But i think thats the same for Chris Rock etc. All copied styles from Pryor.

Pryor in concert is like 30 years old now... Its older than me, yet it makes me and my mates buckle laughing time and time again. Its my most played DVD.

"God damn, thats the best damn cracker I've ever had!!! *licks fingers"

That line has me in stitches every time :D

'Eddie Murphy, **** you!!'

His impressions of Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor are fantastic.

As for Pryor, he is probably the greatest comic to ever live. His concert in Long beach is timeless and is probably the best stand up comedy performance ever.
