So, secondary monitor (Viewsonic VX922) has what I assume is a corrupt EDID. It will not work as a primary monitor in my secondary PC. However, if I connect my Dell 2407 before powering on I can switch the DVI cables to get an image onto the Viewsonic after the Dell has handled the BIOS and initial boot into Windows.

The monitor is never detected properly, sometimes showing as a Generic non-PnP Monitor. From what I have read and understood there's only one way to correct this issue, use PowerStrip to update the EDID on the EEPROM inside the monitor. I wanted to know if anyone know any other ways to correct this so my secondary computer can run from startup on the Viewsonic?

Installing the drivers/.INF file does nothing more than change the data stored on the PC, as when I restart the machine the issue persists.

Just an update: I used PowerStrip to update the EDID but it states that an EDID EEPROM was not found (on the monitor).

I have however gotten the monitor to catch the signal/picture when booting up - from the Win8.1 login screen but nothing before that - while having the monitor connected to a dedicated GPU (HD 5770) I installed along with it's drivers. So it is functional now to some degree' but cannot achieve it's native resolution after Catalyst forced 1280x720 shortly after the drivers installed.

My only idea now is to contact the manufacturer and hope they'll give me some idea on what to do next as there doesn't seem to be any further info online from what I gather.
