Had some Edifier from overclocker many many years ago, no idea what version of them, but dont recall having the choice that I have now.

So first question goes to Overclocker UK, assuming you might have listen to a few sets of 2.0 speakers just on sound quality what would you recommend regardless of cost, and then if possible if on a budget of £150 or less what is the best bang for buck in the Edifier range?

Second quest open to all, what speakers have you tried and what did you buy and why?

I'm just after some thing beats all these cheap plastic looking speakers like the T60 speakers, must be less than 9 inches wide, my pc main use is games first and formost

I don't think you can beat Edifier when it comes to "bang for buck" as you put it. I have a pair of R1700BT and they are a great pair of speakers. Quite dramatic and punchy, just right for media. My only criticism of them is that the controls are on the side not the front and there is no obvious way to tell if they are switched on. They do pretty well as "near field" speakers, for the money. They also come slightly angled upwards so no extra expense on something to angle them. And with grills if you happen to have cats in the house like I do.
If you want to go a little more expensive then the PreSonus Eris 4.5 + Sub8. Double the price but well worth it. Stupid cheap in the UK.

Thank you, well what is the chances of you mentioning the 2 sets thats made my short list, after listing to so many comparasoins on you tube last night, i finally settled on the the PreSonus Eris 4.5 with the option to purchase the sub at a later date, i loved the bass response on the R1700, i felt the clarity of the PreSonus Eris 4.5 more appealing, idealy would have love to listen to them both on my setup to be sure, feel a combination of the two would have been spot on for my taste, anyways all the best.

I originally got some b grade Edifier S350DB speakers but it came with some issues of a high pitch squeal which you can read here: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...se-on-all-outputs-with-an-exception.18938166/

Ended up with the more expensive Edifier S360DB which have been solid and sound absolutely awesome! If you have the budget i would highly recommend stretching for the more expensive sets as they generally sound a lot better imo.

Thankyou, I ended up getting the PreSonus Eris 4.5, I didn't want to spend more as don't use the pc that often to justify spending more, have a decent system in the living room for a more refined listening experience, very happy with the PreSonus Eris 4.5, bass is much better than come across on video reviews, just have to spend some time positioning them right, as bass will sound very different in different sitting positions, to close it will sound flat, step back slowly and you will find that sweet spot. happy days :)
