Edifier R1600T Studio Plus 2.0 Monitors

Hi all.

Have a probably 'stupid' question. I wanted to get some decent speakers for my comp, so I looked at the above Edifier R1600s however I am not sure about connectivity.

I assumed they would just connect via a standard (Green) PC audio jack (Xonar D1 > Speaker), but the back of these speakers only have the L/R audio connectors, how would this work, considering they are 'amplifiers' speakers.

I have one of those already, which I used to connect my old mini hifi system, but the sound was always pretty poor compared to other speakers direct from the soundcard. Is this just how it is, or is there some tweaking required?.

You plug the White and Red into the L/R on the speaker then it just plugs into a normal 3.5mm jack?

They still plug in via a 3.5mm jack.
