Edifier R1700BT settings?

Hi all,

I have some Edifier R1700BT's and while they do sound great, I want to ensure I'm getting the best sound experience.

What I use my speakers for (in order):

- Music (mostly rap/ rnb)
- Gaming (FPS)
- YouTube
- Films

I haven't changed any settings and downloaded Equilizer APO which I have no idea how to use. The dials on the speaker (Treble, Bass) are at stock position.

I keep reading you need to "boost the mids" however I have no idea what that means. Is there anything I definitely SHOULD be doing with these speakers?

If they sound great to you already.. why change any settings?

Mostly because I'm coming from crappy speakers that were integrated into my monitor - anything would be an upgrade from them - so I want to ensure with these that I'm getting the most out of the Edifiers!

Essentially, I'm a noob.
