I've been looking at the S730 to replace my aging Logitech Z623's. I want something with similar power or more, which is why it caught my eye.

I can only fit in a 2.1 system, and it needs to have toslink input, as well as an input for my desktop (RCA or Coax).

Would I find it best to just go for the S730, or are there viable alternatives out there? My maximum budget is £300!

Oh you guys ;)

I have struggled to find an alternative myself, so it seems that these are the one to go for.

edit: Have now ordered. S730's incoming.

Mmm, them S730 are tasty to look at. Judging from the remote, and mid/tweeters that sub looks HUGE :D

Edit: just saw the dimensions, it's not that big lol (no one make a that's what she said joke...)

That's what you said! :p

The right satellite will be propping my shelf up as it's that tall :p

When it arrives tomorrow, I will put a few photos here to show a comparison to the soon gone Z623's.

Well, they're here. Not going to stick them too loud for now, but the sound is very nice, an improvement over the Z623's. I'm also guessing they get very loud :p

Even the box is huge!

The sub dwarves the Z623 sub - with the added cable ties :p

Satellites aren't that small either ;)

*does look smaller in the photo, but is half the height of the U2412!

Rather happy. Using the supplied coaxial running from the computer, with the supplied 3.5mm to RCA for the iPad/Phone/MBA in. Xbox through the other RCA.

Holy toast Batman! That sub is massive. Do the inputs have a selection control so you don't get the noise "buzz-kidunk" when you plug something in? Or have you got both constantly set up?

Look tasty though :D I may get the baby version of these, but still the 2.1 - very tempting.

You get to choose between the inputs, so when I plug the iPad in I don't have to hear that noise when I do :)

Everything supplied is of top quality and absolutely love them. Go all out and feel the POWERRRR! :p
