Hey Guys,
In my desktop I had a Netgear wireless PCI card, the one with the big white block that leads from it - WN311B - I installed W7 onto my machine and Netgear do not support the WN311B with sufficient drivers. It kept cutting my internet off and wasn't stable so i bought a Edimax EW-7727In - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-014-EX&groupid=46&catid=1597&subcat=1622 - as the reviews were excellent and apparently it is W7 compatible. There is a W7 sticker on the box, however i put the card on my motherboard, booted up Windows and it found my next doors neighbours wireless router but not mine. I logged out and back in again, and it found mine, i typed in my password correctly, it kept timing out, so i copied the password the next time it scanned and found my router i pasted the password (WPA) in the box, it connected but with
limited connectivity. Generally it either can't find the router or if it connects (with 2 bars) it has limited connectivity.
Thanks for your help
EDIT: I also downloaded the latest patch from the Edimax site and installed that. No change.
EDIT 2: Got it connected, have loaded Google once or twice but nothing more, can't even load my Netgear Router on my screen. When I perform a Ping on my laptop through the Netgear software to my Desktop, 4 packets are sent, 0 recieved, 100% package loss
