Edit Music Software

Anyone know of any good free software to edit WAV, WMA or MP3 music tracks? I would like to make one shorter and add fade in and out? or I might even have a go at mixing if you know of one that will do it?

Audacity I think does fade in and out. and its free, not sure about mixing though.

I was going to suggest Audacity but thats already been done and I see jbloggs has promoted his freeware thread so my job here is done.
