I have a PDF document with a form I must fill out, but I'm unsure what software will let me do that. Is there any free or low-cost PDF editing software available that allows you to sign the document and complete the text areas?

I believe the Preview app lets you add text/signatures digitally. If you have an iPad with an Apple Pencil, it’s even easier.

If it's a pdf form, then Adobe Acrobat allows you to fill it in.

Yeah, I’ve never needed anything other than Preview to edit PDF files. I have my signature saved and it must cloud sync it because I only ever added it on one Mac and that was over ten years ago. I signed a piece of paper, held it up to the camera and it did the rest.
