editing a TS video in premiere pro

Hi, I am trying to edit a TS video in adobe premiere pro, but I can’t import the file into my project.

Can anyone recommend a converter so that I can load it in?

All I want to do is chop up the video a bit and then export it as divx

.ts is raw hd footage isnt it? Not sure what you would use to re-encode it to a format premiere can use, have you tried looking to see if there are any plugins for premiere?

Don't think it's raw. Uncompressed would take up far more space than the 20GB or so a full HD film is in .ts, unless it's a container that can have regular compressed video as well as uncompressed.

thanks for the replys guys, its a recording from a hauppauge PVR 150 card.

i have found a few things that say they convert it so im giving them a go at the moment, i will reply back when i know the results
