Hi guys,

I spent quite a lot of time editing an Excel file that I opened direct from my employer's web based email system, after completing my work I accidentally clicked save rather than save as, now I can't locate the file.

I've tried doing a search on the entire C:\ with no luck, I've checked temporary internet files as well as the application data directory for Excel with and without hidden files on/off.

At this stage, I'd be pretty much prepared to give up the ghost, however each time I open the original file from the web-mail (let's pretend the file is called "idiot") it's creating files called "idiot1", "idiot2" etc so it's finding the original and duplicating a copy each I open it, so it's still there somewhere!

Does anyone have any idea where this saves to? FYI I tried the same thing with an MP3 and cannot find the temp version of this MP3 once Internet Explorer has downloaded it from email and it plays in my media player.

PS - Clicking file and reviewing recently opened files in Excel does not show this document either.

I'm on Win XP and using Excel 2007.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Matt.
