Editing posts?

I can't seem to find a way to edit my posts. Is this actually possible?

And, as if by magic, an "Edit" button has just appeared! But I don't want to edit this post, I want to edit a post in General Discussion.

Is the thread in question still open for replies or is it locked? If you can no longer post in the thread you'll be unable to edit a post AFAIK.

Also just check again in case you were logged out when you viewed the post previously.

I can edit my post above. But I can't edit my other posts.

how old is the post in question? (as in is it from before the change to the new forum software?)
