ok, i realised that the reason my iTunes and iPod don't show podcast files i've personally imported in the right seciton is that the
<key>Podcast</key><true/>
line is missing from the entry in the Library XML file...
now the problem should be easy enough to fix ASSUMING i could edit the file, which i can't
- as soon as i load iTunes again it reverts back to the pre-edit...
any idea how i can get around this? (this all stemmed from the fact that when i downloaded the earlier Ricky Gervais podcasts to go with the ones that iTunes downloaded for me (only the latest 4 were available through the proper route), they showed up under the "Ricky Gervais" artist section but not in the podcasts where it should be...)
