Editing Video...help?

So whats the best way to edit out sex/violence scenes from something like an xvid or something?

Depends what software you have access to. I'd probably do it with Final Cut Pro on the mac, and just cut the relevant scenes out.

You need to either find video editing software that will read and edit the xvid or decode it to something like an avi then edit it then encode it again.

See if it will open in Windows Movie Makers (comes with XP) - if it does you should be able to just cut the bit out and then save as something usefull (though probably a wmv)
