I have XP and 2 linux distros on one hard drive. I've added a 2nd linux distro and skipped the installation of the GRUB boot loader as it was already installed with the previous distro.

This is the part where I'm struggling. I don't know how to add the 2nd distro(Crunchbang) to the menu.lst. How do I get the version number of kernel image and all the appropriate info so that I can add it to the menu.lst?

The hard drive is split into 4 partitions: NTFS, ext3, ext3 and swap.

The kernel that you need to boot will likely be in that distributions /boot folder. You should be able to view the contents of the folder from the other Linux os.
