Hi Guys!

I've just discovered an awesome piece of software called Rainmeter to enhance my desktop. It now looks like this:

The problem I'm having is that when I send an icon to the desktop or extract to the desktop, the files show up behind Rainmeter and I have to hide it to get to them. (Shown below)

Ideally, I would like to be able to edit the area in which icons are placed on the desktop to the area of desktop that's shown (Shown Below) but I don't even know if it's possible.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great =]
Cheers!

Right click on desktop -> View -> untick auto arrange. Then you can drag them and place them where ever you want.

Or get a different Rainmeter theme ;).

I don't know directly, but the pro version of Fences can automatically move icons into certain fences when they appear on the desktop. However, that costs $20, and there are likely free alternatives out there which could do what you want.

Desktop icons with Rainmeter?

ARE YOU MAD? Desktop icons suck :D

Windows 7 = Use Small icons > Pin commonly accessed apps > Maintain a list of less frequently used apps in Start menu with auto populate disabled.
