I have just picked my Huawei E589 wifi modem today and have just got it setup. Did a quick speedtest, my signal ranges from 2 to 3 bars.

What speeds do other people get?

Seem to be holding the 4G connection ok and not dropping back to HSPA, I am going to try it upstairs later to see if I can get a stronger connection. I did the EE postcode checker test before getting it and it said I was in a strong 3 bar area. So the EE coverage map seems to be telling the truth.

I was really surprised when our city was chosen as a launch city for EE, but the network seems pretty solid. I would be interested to see what a full signal gives depending on contention.

On a side note just got the E589 unlocked for all networks, bought code off Ebay for £1.09 and it worked!

In the centre on Manchester I have had just over 20Mbps download and 25Mbps upload on my Note 2.

I find the speeds vary a lot, this is the best ive seen so far with my S3 LTE

I occasionally see 3G speeds up to 12-14 Mbps from my 3 mifi, but I didn't get EE for the 4G I got it for the call quality, it just happened to have a 4G data bundle.

If that's what can be expected from 4G at average signal, then I'm looking forward to 3 getting it, though I can get this at home right now:
