I turned off the touchpad over a week ago while at home so I could use a mouse and when typing not accidently hit it (i can be pretty bad for it!).

And now when trying to turn it on via the dedicated button or fn+F3 U get a message saying that asus EEE pc ACPI service has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Any solutions to this?

Windows System restore point back to a point prior to disabling it? What OS are you on?

I dont know the laptop at all, but the sledge hammer approach would be to reinstall Windows.

think if you go into my computer, right click the hard drive there's an option there about system restore. just select the date you want to roll back to and let it do it's business :)

and im pretty sure you can instal the OS off the USB stick... use google and you should find some guides instructing you step by step how to do it :)

thanks,

also contacting asus, and cant read the damn S/N number, guessing they stuck it on a heat source as it's been rubbed off and the windows serial number is a tad burnt/black looking.
