eee pc and vista

wouldnt it run a bit slow though?

Gizmodo reports Windows 7 beta 7000 is leaked onto bit torrent, you could give that a try on an EEE pc :D apparent real successor to Win XP

2gb is max memory

just been reading on eeeuser.com and they have said dont use vista for so many reasons :(

now im stuck with the problem, if i get the xp model it only comes with a 12gb ssd but the linux model has 20gb but then xp oem would set me back another £70 :(

get one with a harddrive if your worried about space :p

not too worried about space, dont plan on storing too much on it. i want the ssd for the performance, weight and extra battery life. i can do with 20gb but 12 seems a bit stingy for o/s and apps everything else can be stored on usb memory

12GB is plenty to get most apps on, and don't forget you can always add an SD card to avoid having to remove USB sticks, etc. I've got a 701 and I originally installed and ran Office 2007 off a 16GB Corsair USB stick, and whilst the installation took ages it ran perfectly well.

Bear in mind that the 901 has 2 SSDs, one being 4GB for OS install etc., and the other being either 8GB (XP) or 16GB (Linux).......the larger SSD is not suitable for installing XP, primarily down to read/write speed.

Again, loads of info on eeeuser.com.......I have the 20GB version (4GB/16GB) and put XP on....needs a little 'tweaking' to run fine, but is pretty great thereafter :)
