Hey, I'm heading back to sixth form in a few weeks, and I don't feel that my current Dell is small enough for me to take back and forth to school everyday.

I've been looking at the Asus/Acer small laptop things (Don't know offical name)

I'll have around 200-250£ to spend on a new one, I may look into going second hand, so lets extend the budget to 300.

I will be using it to:
Write up my work, word type documents etc
Perhaps play World of Warcraft off an external drive (if they can support this)

So any suggestions to what i should look into would be much appreciated.

Um...I dont think that any of them will handle WoW. I havent tried it, but I have the Eee 901 (1gb RAM, 1.6ghz Atom) and I'm pretty sure it would struggle with it.

The Eee is fantastic-has the biggest SSD out of the lot of them, which I love for the quick boot times, security and quiet.

However, I only really use mine for browsing and the odd email. The Eee's keyboard may be a little small for writing up work. I actually find it fine to type on, but many others don't, from what I have heard.
 
I originally intended to get the eee 901, however after actually using one in a store I could not see myself using it for everyday typing. Instead I decided on the 1000h- the bigger keyboard made a lot of difference, however that is my opinion. I advise you to find a shop with them on display before you commit on buying. Although on seeing the other 'netbooks' I prefer the Eee by far.
 
I'm on my girlfriend's EEE 701 right now. It's great if you just want to browse on the net, but I imagine typing long documents on it would get tiresome as the keyboard really is tiny.

Then again, you might have small hands.
 
The original Eee 701 could play WOW, albeit fairly slowly. The 901 is a lot more powerful and could certainly handle it.

The Eee is great as it has an amazing battery life. The problem is the eee 901 keyboard is fairly small. You could try the EEE 1000h,
