Eee PC Super Hybrid Engine

When I first had my 1000H if I adjusted the setting in the Super Hybrid Engine I could see the frequency change pretty much instantly on the My Computer/Properties/General screen but now it is constantly showing 1.6GHz whatever the setting. The Super Hybrid Engine is still running at start up so could I have disabled it inadvertantly some how?

Power plan perhaps, xp (not used it for a while now) needs to be set to iirc 'notebook' to get the throttling to work (well it did with mine)

Thanks but the power settings are correct.
Ok it shows the reduced frequency at start up when I open My Computer/Properties but when I close it and reopen it, it will always show 1.6GHz.
Is that normal?

windows detects the clock speed on boot, so once in windows it will stay at whatever the speed was while it was loading the cpu during boot. also windows doesnt recognise multi changes, check with cpuz www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
