EEEK PC just died!!

I came back from work, switched it on, worked ok. Then left it in sleep mode when I went out for a few hours. I forgot it was in sleep mode so pressed the power on button. Loads of beeps and whirling but nothing on the screen.

Hit reset, same thing.

Switch totally on and off, same thing again.

Tried boot disk, no joy just beeps and and then nothing!

After many reboots it stopped beeping just powers off and on with nothing happening on screen.

All the fans are whirling but it won't boot.

Spec is as below, bought of OC not under guarantee now of course. Can't be the GC there no window logon sound and the keyboard doesn't light up.

Using by old back up to write this. AGP 512 ram goodness!

cleared the cmos? pop out motherboard battery for 30mins and then try

Not sure what happened there. Never going to put into sleep mode again.

Overclocked 2500K's don't like sleep mode. I made the mistake of trying it on my PC once and it would not resume from sleep, I had to hard reset. The error code was something to do with CPU state mismatch or something I think?

I re-enabled hibernation mode on my copy of Win 7 (google how to do it if you want) and I use that now. Hibernation works.
