EEk Problems

Washed the car today and ever since it has never started :mad:

All the dash lights come on but no noise from the engine trying to start all I get is a sort of buzzy tapping noise and the cd changer going a big nuts.

I also have to push the lock button twice to lock it but if i then unlock it and lock it again it onlt takes one push of the button and if I hold the key in the starting position my alarm sounds sometimes too> NOt happy

Any ideas as I know very little :confused:

You didn't clean the engine did you?

Sounds like a bad earth to me or a short circuit where some water has got to it.

Did you get much water in the engine bay? it can cause havoc with the electronics

I opened the bonnet up but it didnt look wet really

Nope didnt clean the engine bay

Leave it a few hours, with luck it'll dry out and be fine.

I do hope so but it has been a while already and I'm not the luckiest person btw infact probably the opposite

Check the connections on the battery are clean and tight, and check the chassis ground connection from the negative terminal of the battery is ok.

Should there be 2 wires off one side of the battery and 1 wire off the other?
