Effect of monitor and mouse on gaming

Decided to set up an old pc to play some counter strike source in my spare room i'm using a cheap bush wireless keyboard and mouse and on a cheap old Foehn & Hirsch 42" TV, I haven't played cs for about 2 years and i suck on this set up, used to be pretty competitive, I could just be rusty or could using this set up have an effect?

It takes a while to get back into form and wireless keyboards are not suitable for FPS games in my experience, particularly low quality ones.

Tv probably wouldn't help either. Any idea what hz it is?
