Effect used on car photos

I have seen some photos in Motors - whereby an effect was added to make the car appear super duper shiny. Could anyone advise me what this effect is?

Some great pictures.. im no expert.. so i probably am wrong, i think i saw someone mention HDR and plenty Saturation... but dont quote me on this

they were great pictures though

Dont know the thread your on about but if its a recent car shot and the car looks shinny then its almost 100% going to be some version of HDR and photoshopping.

Yes it was HDR, i have photoshop , is it an effct in there?

Edit:

Researched this feature. Multiple photos are taken of the same nature, then 'merged'.

yes. Download your self a copy of photomatrix and open the 3 images into that and generate hdr. Then go to the tone mapping on the 4th (hdr image) and adjust as you wish. If you download the copy with tonemapping included. There will be a protected watermark on the image once processed. So you might...have to buy it.
