I've heard it works well to condition it and possibly make it grow quicker?
Gone from shoulder length hair to grade 2 in a moment of madness, and want it to grow back. I used to have short hair but now it's been long I don't like it as much.

Does it work as well as mustard on beards? :p

Before shampooing:
First of all an egg yolk makes a great conditioner for your hair. Simply mix it with 2 tsp of a castor oil and massage into your hair. Rinse thoroughly

Might give it a nice shine but its not going to make it grow any faster.

Egg yolks are very good for the hair, especially blonde / lighter colours. However, don't do what a friend of mine did, which was to wash it out with hot water and ended up with scrambled egg stuck in her hair for a week.

What on earth is castor oil? Is it like baby oil?

come on now! Everyone knows what castor oil is! :)

http://ask.yahoo.com/20000519.html

The greenish extract of a large tropical plant, castor oil has been used for many years to ease constipation and induce vomiting. Basically, it's WD40 for the gastro-intestinal tract.

As any Little Rascals fan knows, castor oil is a notoriously ghastly tasting liquid. Yahoo! Health recommends chilling castor oil in the fridge and mixing with cold orange juice before ingesting to make it more palatable. The mind (and tummy) reels.

But castor oil isn't just for breakfast anymore. Just ask the folks at Jayant Oil Mills Group of Bombay, who host an extremely informative page praising the mutiple-purpose liquid. To quote:

It is somewhat difficult to imagine that, barely a few decades ago, castor oil was valued chiefly as a purgative. Who would have then anticipated the commercial respectability it would attain and the national and international demand it would come to enjoy?
This once dreaded substance is now used in plastics, textiles, paints, cosmetics, and a number of inks and industrial adhesives. The site goes on to explain that one reason for the current popularity of castor oil is due to the fact that its numerous chemical derivatives are "renewable sources, bio-degradable and eco-friendly."

Mustard works as well, mainly used for facial hair though. ;)
Heh, I came about >.< this far from telling some-one that mustard increased hair growth in RealLife. Just managed to stop myself in time realising that a forum in-joke would actually just make me sound stupid..hehe.

I remember reading once years ago that banana is very good for dry hair so decided to try it.

Tip: never put banana in your hair if it happens to be long, thick and curly as it won't come out.

Dagnammit.

So mustard doesnt really make hair grow

It doesn't I perpetuated that rumour....

Mustard oil is used however, and it doesn't work. :p

Seems whenever I post some gimp follows straight after with:

"Duuuh hur hur mustard!"

:D

I thought EU rules stated that bananas had to be 4inches long and straight now anyway, not long and curly? :p
