I've now read two stories about cars being hit by eggs in the last week, and had my own hit by one whilst driving on Sunday.

I was so stunned that someone could be stupid enough to throw one (from a van) at another moving vehicle that I couldn't bring myself to go back looking for the registration number of the vehicle.
Just to make it more dangerous, had the roof down at the time and the egg clipped close to the top of my A post, another few inches higher and I could have took it straight in the face.

So is this some new and decidedly stupid craze?

Least it wasn't a frozen sausage ;)

I've heard of a few ppl getting hit with an egg while driving, looks like the morons are taking over our fair country!

Some people are turned on by that sort of thing.

I hope it doesn't become a new craze as egg would be nasty to clean off.
If it's a hot summer though you could probably eat it after a few minutes, lol.

Just glad it didn't hit you Mr. S, if you had lost control or taken your eyes off of the road (if it hit you in the face) because of it then you could be much worse off :(

Egg is a complete bugger to your paint too. Some planks when I was at uni thought it would be a good idea to egg the security guards rover. He didn't notice until the morning.

They didn't find it quite so funny when they had to cough up for a respray. The roof had loads of rings that looked like water marks

If you mix 50/50 warm water and white vinegar and apply on the egg, allow it to soak in for a few minutes and then wash off with a brush. Then use scatch X to buff the lacquer back up again, can remove egg marks... It can dull the paint a little, compound polish such as scratch X can buff back up again...

works fine for bird muck as well...

Edit - Oh, and for those wondering how I worked this out.. You are looking at a guy who placed a full bag of shopping (with eggs in the bag) on my car roof. Forgot about it, drove off and at the first traffic lights stopped.. Bag didn't, all over the car bonnet.. Egg everywhere, as well other stuff... By the time I'd got home, it was dried on..

So no I've not been car egged.. Not yet.. LOL

I wouldn't be surprised that with the way this country is going we'll all be getting pelted with breakfasts on a regular basis.

People went through a stage of throwing rocks, big rocks. Off of over passes down here in OZ.
The police had a crack down on the people doing it.

There was people ending up in hospital coz of it.

I admit to doing it myself fairly regular for a short period of my early teens to houses, cars, buses etc. not proud of it but it was funny at the time, people grow up, it's not gonna be a new craze.

my car got hit by an egg from a m-way bridge a few years back...

shell chipped the paint badly...

ejits

:(

I've had a water bomb thing lobbed at my car. Scared the hell outta me as it hit my side window and made a massive bang. This was just teenagers on the side of the road, nothing was behind me so i slammed on the brakes which made lots of screaching noises, they heard this and ran off up some cutway by the time I turned round. I shoulda just handbraked it lol!! But being a cruddy ole G reg 205 1.1 I had then the wheels woulda probably collapsed.

On the bridge leading to my house some idiots took to launching car batteries at cars! It took one pour soul to take a truck battery to the face for them to get arrested and charged.

hrm.... i'm getting the fear of going out with the top down now.... oh wait, no i'm not :D its just too much fun! although i'd rather not get egg all over my lubbly connolly leather!

My flat mates car got egged by the flat that lives at the top of our block. Paintwork it damaged, anything dropping from 6floors up would damaged paint work though. But nice that we had witnesses they now have to pay for the damage or they get kicked out of their flat. Damn students..
