"What is an EGR Valve?
An Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is fitted to engines to reduce harmful emissions, namely poisonous Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) gases. The EGR helps reduce these gases by mixing inert burnt exhaust gases into an engine’s combustion chamber during the induction cycle; this reduces the temperature at the point of combustion, thus reducing these gases."

Just fitted a brand new EGR Valve to a Mk6 Fiesta 1.4TDCi. Using Forscan I reset the DTC for the EGR which showed as Frozen. I was hoping to see an EGR Adaption option in the service menu but no luck. Does this Vehicle need to have the EGR Adapted or will it just learn values from a 10 minute idle after first start ?
