eight-core amd

whats all this i hear about an eight-core cpu by amd, it will be released in 6 months early 2007, hum anyone have any more info?

I don't think there is a 8 core AMD cpu coming out. I have only heard about 2 quad core cpu running on a AMD dual cpu board. This would be the same as a 8 core cpu.

Yes, I know. Presumably that's why they said "where have I heard that before..." (my emphasis).

Although I don't remember whether Intel officially claimed it would be good for 10GHz or if other sources claimed it would be. Unreliable sources, such as Wikipedia.
