Either faulty Windforce R9 290 or bad OC GURU II?

The Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 (default OC 1040mhz/5000mhz) is unstable between 95- 100% GPU load on its default factory settings using Gigabyte's own supplied software OC Guru II. However problem seems to go away if I use AMD OverDrive...

I either have a faulty R9 290 or the Gigabyte's own OC software cannot stably run it's own product at its OC factory specs.

Has anyone else noticed this??

It's running stable at 1050.4Mhz (GPU 1% increase in AMD Overdrive) with no extra Powertune. So I'm inclined to think Gigabyte's own software is faulty.

OC Guru causes HUGE instability when left running.

My old GTX780 WF crashed all day erry day with OC Guru running...No idea why. It WAS a faulty card but it crashed LESS with EVGA's OC Software (Which is also buggy as hell and causes instability)
