Eject USB icon allows ejection of hard drives too ??

If inserting a usb key the eject icon pops up lower right as expected.

Yet on my sons PC it also shows his two hard drives ??. We have no need to eject them so how do we hide them from the eject option ?

Download SPECCY, run it on your Son's PC and use it as a basis to provide a bit more information about his PC configuration.

If the write mode you have chosen for the hard drives is not cached , but (slower) write through, that may explain why you have them listed

If it's a modern PC with a half decent BIOS then you ought to be able to identify drives as removable or not.

On an older PC I have, despite having a good BIOS for the time, this isn't an option.

Of course, it won't actually let you remove the drives (well, not OS ones anyway), so it's not an issue as such, more something that bugs me.

In BIOS there may be a SATA hot swap option for the drives - disable that.
