i had a look and the holes that i have circled are not there and the one in a sqaure is abit further up

are these holes vital ?

That's the problem with cooling cards there are reference and non reference. Ive been stung with that one before

yeah, its annoying, why can't they just have 1 pcb for all the cards

The 9800gtx+ have 3 different ones i had two different ones my self wanted to put them on water so emailed ek and they didn't make a block for either. Was well fished off

i would have been to, but with cards like the 5830 which don't have any official bocks it would be nice if people like ek could test to see if like the 5870 block fits like i've just found out

Guessing I'm not allowed to say this but I'm selling a 5870v2 Waterblock + v2 backplate cheap if your interested. =]

Also your picture is a 5830.

i know it is a 5830, i was trying to find out if the 5870 block fits it, and it does

and i wont be buying until june im afraid

Yeah, this reference and non-reference design of the 5xxx series can get confusing when looking for water blocks, i'm currently hunting for a full cover block for a non-reference HD-5850. I can't seem to find anything online that decisively indicates compatibilty with non-ref 5850's. Would appreciate any nudges in the right direction. Cheers.

i know it might be a bit of a long shot, but this 5870 v2 block fits 5830's so try like comparing it to the back of your 5850? or the ek website has a lot of water blocks for the 5800 series and tend to have pictures showing the mounting holes on all of there blocks
